| Rangers Soccer Club registers all teams U10 and above into the Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA), with the exception of U10 House League teams. In most age groups, the CMSA has six tiers. Rangers registers its teams into divisions that it feels will give the teams a good degree of competition.
The CMSA League provides players with the richest soccer experience, the most teams to play against, and the greatest opportunity for individual development within our organization.
After you've read all the information on this page, click here to proceed to registration.
League games begins at the end of April. Games are held at various fields throughout the city. Practices and PDP sessions are at local fields in the west end of the city. Click here for more information on dates of play.
Until we have a definite number of teams, and are aware of their game schedules, we are unable to give an accurate idea of what days practices, PDP sessions and games will be on. If you will have other commitments throughout the season, it is suggested that you speak with your team's manager, and they will try to accommodate you with practice and PDP times as much as possible. Click here for more information on dates of play.

U8 Developmental (For Children Born in 2002-2003)
U8 Developmental is amalgamated under the House League Program in Outdoor. The program is three days a week, with exhibition games played against Signal Hill Soccer. Click here for more details.
Children desiring a one day per week program of a less competitive nature should consider U8 House League.
U10 Developmental (For Children Born in 2000-2001)
U10 Developmental is a similar program to U8 Developmental. The commitment is three times a week - one practice in a local field, one Player Development Program (PDP) session and one game in the Calgary Minor Soccer Association League. Game schedules are not released until the commencement of the season.
U10 players are put onto separate boys and girls teams. All Players in U10 are required to attend evaluations. Please see Evaluation information on the Rangers home page.
Children looking for a program with a less competitive nature, or fixed weeknight playing dates should consider U10 House League.
U12-U18 CMSA League (For Children Born in 1992-1999)
Parents/Guardians are able to choose to register their children onto teams that enter Tiers I, II and III (for previous registrants, this is formerly known as the Premier Divisions) or teams that enter Tier IV or lower (formerly known as the Competitive Division). There are some variances in the program style and commitment required depending on the place of registration. The primary difference between the two programs is that he Tier I, II and III program is three times per week (one game, one practice and one technical session), while the Tier IV and lower program is only twice per week (one game and one practice). Please read on below for more details.
Registration in Tiers I, II and III
Each Age Group from U12 to U18 offers committed players, the opportunity to play in Tier I, II and III teams.
Tier I, II and III team members are required to participate in Evaluations with the other players in their age group to determine the appropriate team for their skill level. Please check www.calgaryrangers.com for evaluation dates and times.
All players signing up to be on a Tier I, II and III team are required to commit to participate in the RSC Player Development Program on an extra-fee basis. This fee will be paid at Registration and will be returned to the player if they do not make a Tier I/II or III team and they do not wish to participate in PDP with their Tier IV/V/VI teammates. Players unwilling to commit to the PDP will be offered placement on lower division teams (Tier IV and lower) where PDP is optional.
The Tier I, II and III players require a high level of commitment, due to a three-night a week schedule which includes one Practice at a local field with the team's coach, one PDP session to enhance individual soccer skills with certified, paid instructors and one game scheduled by the Calgary Minor Soccer Association against other top level teams from other clubs.
However, these scheduled times are the minimum of what the Tier I, II and III program offers. Many teams will require additional practice sessions and workout sessions in order to continue the excellent reputation Rangers Teams have in Calgary.
All players are required to read and agree to our Player Commitment Policy.
Volunteer coaches with Rangers are given extensive training and mentorship opportunities, including:
- PDP Mentorship Program
- Coaches Clinics
- Weekly Session Tips from the Player Development Director
- Extensive library of Coaches Resources
Registration in Tier IV (and lower)
This program continues to emphasize skill development and enjoyment of the game, but introduces full soccer tactics and game strategy.
Tier IV and lower teams practice at least once a week at a local gymnasium. The CMSA (Calgary Minor Soccer Association) also schedules teams for games against other clubs, approximately once a week. Players on these teams can request to participate in our PDP Program although it is not required.
Tier IV and lower members are required to participate in Evaluations with the other players in their age group in order to determine which team they would fit in best. Please check www.calgaryrangers.com for evaluation dates and times.
